Almost there . . .

It is odd how we are feeling at this stage of the journey with the building of the North Carolina mountain home. We are so excited about finishing it and being able to spend time there and we are feeling sad that the process of building it will soon end. The process of building our home has been so enjoyable which may seem a bit strange to some. We had heard that building a home will end in a divorce…that is certainly not the case with us. We are now thinking when and how we will build the next home!

One thing that has made the process enjoyable is the relationship that has been developed with our builder and project manager. They have been absolutely delightful to work with and it has been a true collaboration. Communication is the key to a successful project of any kind and building a home is no exception.

Outside you can see the front walkway is poured. Next you can see the planter wall footing poured. And the laundry room steps are in without the grout, but you can see how they will look.

And last the final touches on the rockwork; are those steps not beautiful?

Let’s take a look at the staircase up to our offices with the wall sconce. I just love that sconce! We now have water and will soon have electricity! You can see the hood vent is up in the kitchen. Of course underneath that covering the rest is stainless as well.

And last the party can begin
with the outdoor speakers!

Our next visit we will be meeting with the landscaper and will bring you photos of that project as well.
