Happy New Year and Welcome to 2009 and the next phase of the mountain house!

Happy New Year! As you see the house is coming right along, the stone is on the front, porch is up, quite striking don’t you think?

Let’s take a closer look inside and see what is going on…. The kitchen tile is starting to be laid and is it a mixture of terra cotta, teal, cream, tan and gray/silver. It looks like some flavors of different ice cream all swirled together. In fact, the tile became the focal point of the entire house and we developed the color scheme based on it.

Next is a photo of the staircase which leads to the catwalk and second floor. The catwalk separates the two guestrooms and provides a wonderful view down into the great room and out the 28 ft glass wall. You can also see the tile line which we are designing something quite unusual.

Most of the photos that have been shared have the building process looking very neat. I did not want you to believe that so here is the shower floor in the master bath being installed. Yes, all is not glamorous!

 

Now let’s take a look in the kitchen and you see the back of the island and the wood cabinets that have been selected.

 

 

Last is a photo of the mailbox which will be covered with the same stone as the house.
